Above the village of Rouze , you can admire two nice buildings of stone that we call here Vauban bridges. Both lie on the passage of the ancient route which gave access to the Donezan, the so-called royal route, or canon way or even Vauban way.

After the Pyrenees Treaty in 1659, Louis XIV ordered the building of the Mont-Louis fortress in order to defend and keep safe the new border with Spain . To get to Cerdagne, South of Donezan, one needed to follow this ancient, bad cared for route. On this occasion, important workings of fixing up have been realized in order to make it suitable for motor vehicles.

This route will be used till 1890 and restored in 1996 during the first stage of working managed by the SIVOM of Donezan (now the Community of all the District villages of Donezan), aimed at keeping safe and bringing into light the heritage
