There are, for the modern period, industrial activities which helped a little bit for the development in Donezan : a Catalan forge, built by the marquis de Bonnac in the 18 th Century, an iron ore and a talc quarry, both being open air exploitations.

The exploitation and the direct treating of iron are an activity which was developed in the 18 th and 19 th Centuries, in the central and Eastern parts of the Pyrenean range. These micro industries were then progressively abandoned because of their low rentability rate.

From this time on, Donezan kept safe the imposing ruins of the forge built in Mijanès. The two mines, of iron and talc, perched right in the mountains are still visible.
